Health risk caused by lead in tap water

A recent report in the Sunday Business Post has revealed that 41 schools, businesses and homes across Ireland have high levels of lead in their water supply following research from the Environmental Protection Agency.

The high lead levels are thought to come from old pipes which have been dissolving in to the water.

Barry Cowen, FIANNA FÁIL TD, has called on the government to take charge:

“We cannot have a situation where schools and businesses are paying water charges but then don’t have adequate drinking water,” Cowen states. “Excessive levels of lead in water is a health risk and poses particular danger for young children.” (Source: thejournal.ie)

The Water-to-Go filter will eliminate over 99.9% of lead and other contaminants found in everyday tap water such as chlorine, fluoride and copper.
