Britons warned to stay indoors during heatwave

Public health officials have advised Britons to stay indoors after the met office forecasted a two-day heatwave.

The Level Two alert has put Hospitals and care on alert for extra admissions. There is also a huge concern over Muslims who are currently fasting for Ramadan.

People living in the Midlands, East and South East have been advised to keep out of the sun in peak hours (11am-3pm).

“While many people enjoy hot weather, high temperatures can be dangerous, especially for people who may be particularly vulnerable, such as older people, young children and those with serious illnesses.

“Many members of the Muslim community may be fasting during the current period of Ramadan. During hot weather it’s important to balance food and fluid intake between fasts and especially to drink enough water.” Dr Paul Cosford – Public Health England (Source: The Telegraph).

The heatwave is expected to see temperatures reach 89F (32C) by tomorrow.

Make sure that you all have your Water-to-Go filter bottles close to hand and keep your hydration levels topped up as much as possible. Dehydration can be very nasty business.
